Erik ten Hag had his press conference meeting this morning before tomorrow's game vs Aston Villa
Erik on new signings:
"We need more options in the offence that is clear. It is vital if you want to get success but we still have time to fill that in."
“We signed Eriksen for the midfield department, we are really happy with that. I'm also happy with the performance of our midfield and offensive department.”
“We need to strengthen the squad even more, and we're looking around, but we need the right players.”
Erik on Ronaldo:
"No news, it's the same as last week. Of course, concerning is not the right word, I focus on the players that are here. they are doing really well and they are in great shape. We will integrate him."
Erik on Sancho, Martial, Rashford and Bruno:
“They connect really good together. I think when you see that, you are lucky as a manager. They are a threat, they are weapons and we need to develop that further."
Erik on performances on the pitch:
“We have the intention to play brilliant football. Only one thing, we have an opponent every time and they don't cooperate! We want to play attacking football, proactive football and tomorrow's opponent is a tough opponent, so Perth is lucky.
“I don't think far in the future. I think always on the first game, that is the most important one. We want to win every game so let's win the first game."
Erik on Maguire getting booed:
“We heard boos, but if you perform, it slows down. I think he and the team have impressed by the way they played."
Erik on the squad:
“We have a squad and as you know, we don't have a lot of time. We need to be ready for the 7th of August. We have experienced players, but we also wanted to give some young talents the chance.”
“This season has a lot of games, with the World Cup, so we need more options. We need a good team, a good squad, to get the right results at the end of the season.”
“I think Fred can even be better. I will support him in that. He also brings energy to the team through his attitude.”
"At the moment Fred is playing in the role of connecter, defending to offence. He is playing the role quite well. I am satisfied with his performance, with his improvement."
Erik on the youth:
“James Garner integrated into training this week, so I haven't seen him. I don't have a full impression of him and I want to see more. I will then answer the question, and make conclusions and decisions.”
“Hannibal Mejbri, he plays some minutes now and I think he did quite well, in training as well. He makes quite a good impression. I think the youngsters do well .
"Not all youngsters have gained minutes, I have to set priorities, but in the future they will play an important role I think in building Man United."
"I cannot give all young players the chances they maybe deserve, because we have to construct a team, it is good to have them in. I see them daily in training, so I get a really good impression, from there on we can develop them with good plans, that is the idea."
Great answers from the Dutchman, all United fans are excited and looking forward to tomoroow's match against Aston Villa.
