Who could leave Manchester United in the summer?

Manchester United are undergoing yet another rebuild this summer, with many players set to leave.

Nemanja Matic is the first player already confimed to leave the club in the summer, after himself and the club mutually decided not to trigger the one-year extension in his contract.

Juan Mata is also set to leave the club, with him yet to decide whether to retire and take up a potential coaching role at the club, or maybe continue playing.7

Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, and Axel Tuanzebe are three defenders set to have the same future, with Manchester United putting all three of them in the transfer market.

Jesse Lingard will not sign a new deal the club, with Newcastle, Leicester, and West Ham all interested in signing the midfielder on a free transfer

Alex Telles could also depart, with the club feeling less than happy with his performances thus far. He may get a final chance under Erik Ten Hag, but if the club decides to sell him, his old club Porto would be interested in re-signing the left-back. Telles himself, wishes to stay at the club, and fight for his place.

Paul Pogba is set to leave the club as a free agent again and is in talks with both Juventus and PSG over a proposed move. Real Madrid has always liked the player, but has not opened talks with his entourage yet. Pogba would 'love' to return to Turin, but Paris are offering the best financials. It's down to Paul Pogba to decide where he wishes to move. Manchester United have offered Pogba a new deal since last year, but he has refused to sign, thus far.

Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to decide on his future. He has held positive discussions with Erik Ten Hag and knows he would be in the new manager's plans, but Ronaldo does have proposals from some top European clubs, and Jorge Mendes discussed these proposals with the player in a meeting a few days ago. Bayern and PSG, amongst others, are interested in the player, so it is down to him to decide his future. Manchester United wants Ronaldo to trigger the one-year extension as soon as possible.

Antony Martial wants to leave Manchester United. He wants a new challenge, and he wants it to ideally be abroad. Erik Ten Hag wants the player to stay, as he feels Martial's quality can be used to great effect in his style of play, so will hold discussions with him soon. But Martial is intent on leaving, so let’s see if Ten Hag can convince him to change his mind.
